Cultivation

We cultivate with organic standards an area of 12,000 sq.m., in which they are located 12000 Aloe Vera Barbadensis plants. Our cultivation is certified by TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas - Control and Certification Organization.

The plants were planted in 2012 when they were very small and, by 2014, some of them had reached the appropriate age (30 months) to harvest their leaves. Aloe Barbadensis Miller is the most widespread variety of Aloe, as well as the most powerful. Native to Africa, today it is cultivated all over the world, especially in warmer and drier climates. The Aloe Barbadensis Miller variety is the one that provides the greatest nutritional value as it contains the most nutrients and is the only variety that we grow and use as a raw material for our products.

Our cultivation is located in its wider area of Ancient Epidaurus which is a small town on the east coast of the Peloponnese in the Prefecture of Argolis. The picturesque village is located in a bay and in the summer is a popular harbor for many pleasure boats. Our village is surrounded by orange, lemon and olive groves which are the basis of life for the approximately 1800 inhabitants. Tourism and fishing are also an important source of income for the inhabitants of the village. Of course, we don't forget the wonderful ancient theater of Epidaurus. It was built in the 4th century BC. and can accommodate around 14,000 spectators. It is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage monument. During the months of July and August theatrical performances take place even today. A few kilometers outside the village there is an important ancient sanctuary. The sanctuary of Asclepius was an ancient healing center and was the cradle of medicine.

Organic Farming is a farming method that completely avoids the use of synthetic fertilizers and herbicides, plant growth regulators, hormones and feed additives. Organic farmers rely on crop rotation (rotating plants for harvest), crop residues, fallow, animal manure (manure), and mechanical cultivation to maintain soil productivity, enrich it with plant nutrients, and control weeds. , insects and pests. The main issue of Organic Farming is the replacement of synthetic chemicals with others found in nature. Instead of synthetic pesticides, organic pesticides such as Bt, pyrethrum and rotenone are used.
